   Puerto Eden
The Locality of Puerto Edén is located to about 400 kilometres north of Puerto Natales. He is Villa who is nailed in sector NW of the Wellington Island. Villa was created in 1969, although in the sector already he had seated an important population as of year 1940.

The population of Puerto Edén reaches to the 300 people and in them are 5 descending families of the ethnic group to kawaskar, who inhabited the South of Penas Gulf. Almost all the rest of the population comes from gradual emigrations from the X Region, and they are possible to be characterize like " Chilotes ", descendants of the Mapuche-Huilliche ethnic group.

The area where is based Puerto Edén corresponds to turboso-rocky lands what the access and the construction of houses make difficult. Almost all its coast is steep, which added to the high rainfall that reigns in the area, 4.000 to 5.000 mm to the year, raise a series of limits to the slums.

The locality presents a degree of important isolation respect to its political center - administrative, Puerto Natales. Telephony system does not exist, reason why the communications that settle down are via radio, when the climatic conditions allow it.

The only one access road is by sea (at the moment 22 hours of navigation).
